Hey folks, I posted this week's blog article about our theme from Sunday: Blessed are those who suffer alone. Check it out! https://www.ihschurch.com/post/blessed-are-those-who-suffer-alone
We'd love to hear your thoughts on this post and all our blog posts here on our forum. What do you think about the pandemic of loneliness?
I think loneliness is one of the most dangerous things there is.
I just lost a friend Monday. I hadn’t seen him in a few years and we weren’t the closest of friends but he was one of the kindest guys I’ve ever met. He just lost his brother this past August in a freak accident working on his car. He lost his other brother back in 2015. Once his second brother passed away I didn’t hear back after reaching out which wasn’t like him. He would occasionally comment on Facebook posts but he sounded different… angry even. He apparently relapsed and on Monday he overdosed. He didn’t know how to deal with the pain of losing his two brothers.
If he had reached out I would have dropped everything, packed Charlotte up in the car, and driven back up to NY to be there. To just keep him company. So he knew he wasn’t alone…
Now, his parents are getting ready to bury their third and final child.
I can’t imagine the loneliness and pain that is bringing to them.
So please, if any of you who read this are ever feeling lost and lonely, reach out. Please. Because there are people who are here and care. 💔
