What is a Church Vestry?

In the Anglican tradition, the “Vestry” is what other churches might call a “Church Board.”

It's the leadership body responsible for the parish. The Vestry of an Episcopal church has three primary responsibilities. The first two are managerial, while the third is to assist the Rector in choosing the right individuals for certain leadership roles.
